With more than 150,000 inhabitants, Haarlemmermeer belongs to the twenty largest municipalities in the Netherlands. Large scale versus small scale, from urban proportions to a small authentic village character, high-tech versus artisanal farming. For many years, Haarlemmermeer has been the economic engine of the Netherlands and it is the beating heart of the Randstad conurbation.

In the Facility Management department, several contracts expired in a short period of time. In addition, a relocation of all historical archives had to be prepared. For both projects, the municipality needed support and advice from an experienced project manager, to get team members on board and ensure that the projects were managed efficiently to achieve a successful end result.

Maurice van Doorn fulfilled this role from Hospitality Group. In addition to the role of project leader, he also acted as a purchaser and/or subject matter expert in the tenders for catering, vehicle fleets, office supplies, flowers and printers. Through his expertise he helped to start up various tenders in a short time. Together with the various teams, all tenders and implementations were completed within the envisaged ambitious plans. Due to the departure of one of the contract managers, Maurice also took care of a part of the contract management during the tenders and, together with the employees of FM and suppliers, set up and optimised work processes.

A project plan and relocation plan were drawn up for the relocation of the historical archive, enabling the employees of the municipality and the mover to carry out the rest of the project independently.

Thanks to his knowledge of and experience in setting up and executing contract management, Maurice made a valuable contribution. He also contributed to the development of the plan for the organisational changes within Facility Management. This has led, among other things, to professional contract management playing a more prominent role within Haarlemmermeer, which is in line with the interests and risks of the various facility contracts.
