‘Our house’ new catering outlet for ROC Flevoland
‘Our house’ new catering outlet for ROC FlevolandFor the Regional Intermediate Vocational Education Center (ROC) of Flevoland in Almere, Hospitality Group developed the concept and the design for a new catering outlet in the altered and extended part of Building C. We developed the concept of Our House on the basis of interviews with students, teachers, employees of the catering company and the facility services department.
Shared ownership
Our House is characterised by collective ownership. Students, teachers and employees, for example, help decide on the playlist that can be heard in the sitting area, ensure that ‘Our House’ remains neat together, and go for healthier food and beverages. In the sitting area two water outlets of Join the Pipe have been installed. The first social network of tap water drinkers, which share the dream of building the longest water pipe to provide everyone around the world with clean drinking water. At these water outlets, students and employees can fill their re-usable water bottles easily and free of charge. A good alternative for an Energy Drink or fizzy drink!
Feasible and suitable
The espressobar has long opening hours and offers students and teachers a suitable offering throughout the day. During peak moments the rest of the distribution counter is also available. As a result the catering company can run a feasible operation. Thanks to the close collaboration with Burton Hamfelt Architects the design of the catering facilities connects seamlessly with the design of the new reception concourse, in which the grandstand stairway is a great eyecatcher.
Our house it has a crowd
There’s always something happening
And it’s usually quite loud
Our mum she’s so house-proud
Nothing ever slows her down
And a mess is not allowed
