‘If you don’t rock the boat, you don’t get waves’. An aphorism of one of the 22 facility managers who took part in the UWV management course ‘Impact’ last year. At employee insurance agency UWV, entrepreneurship and pro-activity are stimulated in the facilities department, so that it can have even more impact and add more value. Together with UWV, Hospitality Group developed an exclusive management course for local facility managers.

Inspiring programme

During a kick-off and four deep dive sessions at inspiring locations around the country, the facility managers were stimulated and inspired by the themes relevant to UWV. The programme included technological developments and the digital transformation, and robot Pepper was introduced. We worked on a creative mindset and where better to do this than at Strijp-S, where local entrepreneurs have a very special way of organizing and doing business. In the third deep dive, the group looked at trends and the irresistible solutions that the working environment of the future offers. The customer arena caused a stir and the facility managers entered into direct discussions with customers to jointly come to even better solutions for accommodation and service issues.

Involvement and input for discussion

With a vision of the future, new insights and learnings from the discussions, the participants set to work exploring the possibilities to have even more impact, both personally and as a team. The course resulted in more involvement and input for discussion about current topics among colleagues. The result is more awareness and the stimulus to keep track of what’s going on outside, to anticipate trends and developments together and to continue talking to end users!
