Multifunctional catering outlets for the Pulse building at Delft University of Technology
Multifunctional catering outlets for the Pulse building at Delft University of TechnologyDelft University’s modern educational building ‘Pulse’ was completed in the summer of 2018. The building is located in the middle of the campus and has an open character – all students of Delft University can use the building. Pulse (Practise, Unite, Learn, Share & Explore) connects the physical with the digital education and study environment through interactive means such as videoconferencing or an interactive seminar.
Delft University asked Hospitality Group to develop a inviting food market on the ground floor and to supervise its realisation. The food market has three multifunctional catering outlets with a dynamic offering. At the moment there is a Couscous Bar, Poké Labs and a Warung cafe. The outlets regularly change their catering company and their concept to create a varied offering of products throughout the year. The caterer can easily adapt the facilities in the outlets to his own identity. For example, the lighting can be replaced, the cash register elements can be moved and a caterer-specific wrapping can be applied to the outside of the panels.
The three stylish outlets are similar in shape but distinctive in design. Hospitality Group designed the outlets, taking into account the design of the seating area designed by Ector Hoogstad Architecten, the architect of the building.
