Allinq is responsible for the project management of various clients and organises technical and construction projects to make its telecom clients future-proof. For the realisation of these projects, Allinq asked Hospitality Group to deploy the right interim project managers. With strong technical backgrounds, self-employed interim managers Bas Modderkolk and Tjalke Bremmer were the obvious candidates to fulfil this request.

From tender specification to implementation phase

In their roles, Bas and Tjalke were responsible for the project management and executive management of three different locations from the tender specification onwards with a total P&L responsibility of €18 million. Bas and Tjalke had a leading role in the invitations to consultants and contractors to tender. In the ongoing projects they were fully responsible for construction, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and security technology. Wherever possible, the entire project was realised in accordance with the TIERIII design concept. This guarantees operational reliability.

In their assignments, Bas and Tjalke increased the available energy capacity of the various locations by a substantial number of megawatts. Because the project was sometimes carried out in an inner-city environment, the surroundings had to be constantly taken into account, requiring knowledge of permits.

Facility elements

In addition to the constructional and project-based element, Tjalke was responsible for the facilities programme of one of the locations. A high-density data room (in accordance with TIERIII) was built, the cooling installation was extended and a facility programme was carried out. The facility programme also included the constrcution of a new dispatch room and in-house warehouse. The internal transport routes within the building were adapted and various lifts were renovated to comply with today’s wishes and requirements. Furthermore a ‘meet me room’ (MMR) was built. An MMR or connectivity room is a network-neutral data center where various companies can connect their individual network connections to each other.

For both men, the greatest success is completing the projects within an exceptionally short time and the set budget, and of course a satisfied customer.
