Universe – Heineken’s new working concept
Universe – Heineken’s new working conceptHeineken asked Hospitality Group to develop a new working concept and to implement this initially at the pilot site Stadhouderskade 84 in Amsterdam. The result is a very inspiring and inviting building for the intended users (Heineken GIS and subcontractors), but also a landing place for many more Heineken employees, for instance for innovation, town hall meetings and Agile teams.
Challenge
The challenge was to create an environment that fits in with the ever faster changing world we live in, is compatible with the 24/7 social network that connects Heineken globally and with Heineken’s (desired) culture, and strengthens Heineken’s vision and strategy. An environment that facilitates the organisation and teams to work more effectively and efficiently, invites people to work in new and different ways, and stimulates meetings and teamwork.
Universe
Heineken asked Hospitality Group to develop a new working concept and to implement this initially at the pilot site Stadhouderskade 84 in Amsterdam. The result is a very inspiring and inviting building for the intended users (Heineken GIS and subcontractors), but also a landing place for many more Heineken employees, for instance for innovation, town hall meetings and Agile teams.
Approach
The approach included a strategic study (the Why), working with a substantive project group (FM, HR, IT, Comms), working interactively with a user group (ambassadors), and implementing an extensive comms & change process. In the new working environment employees are also given room for experimenting and finding out together which innovations might improve the working environment even more.
Reuse
In the elaboration much attention was given to reuse. For instance, Heinekens’s own existing furniture was reused, but also seats from the Amsterdam Arena Stadium and Heineken bottles.
